,
My name is Sarah Phillips, I have been a parishioner for the past 6 years since meeting and marrying my husband, Matt. Since that time, I have been able to be involved in the parish as a Eucharistic minister, volunteer Confirmation team member, fundraiser coordinator for our parish for youth desiring to go to camp but needing financial support to make it possible, musician, and this past year I had the honor of leading our high school Confirmation combined with youth group with an awesome team. Moving forward I will be the youth minister again with an incredible team of adults, serving those who have been Confirmed and desire to grow in their faith, go deeper in following Christ, and become fully alive while being inserted into serving the Church and developing deeper connections and a sense of belonging in the Church with a community of peers that are on the journey as well. Previously my life experience has included but not been limited to: two years being trained and going out to serve young people leading retreats around the US on a NET ministries team, graduating with a nursing degree and working as an RN, 6 years as a religious sister, youth ministry for 2 years and Spiritual Care Coordinator for a nursing home for a year, and then after meeting my husband I went back to school and got my bachelors degree in Elementary Education and have been a teacher for the last 3 years at a Christian montessori school here in Wenatchee. I am blessed with four children and am so excited through my own personal journey to know God's faithfulness and the adventure that He wants to take us all on. And with our young people will echo St. JP2's call to "Be not afraid" and see where the Lord will lead our youth and continue to bring all parishioners to be fully alive in Christ.
In my free time I love to spend quality time with my family: camping, hiking, playing board games, and enjoying campfires. My Irish roots make me a natural storyteller which is a gift my kids especially enjoy when it involves recounting funny past situations we have gone through. I love to help people understand whether it be something educationally, that hasn't made sense and through explanations and examples the light bulb goes on, or especially in stirring up the faith in others and watching God act in people's lives when they give Him permission to.
